If
you suffer from breakouts or persistent blemishes, you are not alone. Bad skin
can be defeated though. Blemishes,
pimples, blackheads, or whiteheads that appear on the skin all refer to
acne. These
breakouts can become visible wherever there are oil producing (sebaceous) glands. Most noticeably, they
emerge on the face as well as your back, chest or neck. Keeping
your skin clean helps reduce the bacteria build up but does not rid your
skin of them. For mild to moderate acne, I have found that
skin care products that contain benzoyl peroxide alleviate the
problem completely. It
works by giving the pores more oxygen which kill the bacteria that causes
breakouts. If
you apply oxygen rich solutions on your skin, bacteria do not have a
chance to build up on the skin and become a blemish, thereby reducing
breakouts. Benzoyl peroxide also stops the formation of new blemishes by
ridding the follicle of excess dead skin cells which over time will cause
pore blockage. When the surface layer of dead skin is
removed, your skin is healthier and radiant. For more

contains benzoyl peroxide as one of its main ingredients. If you find proactiv is too expensive, you can use over
the counter products at your local drug store that contain benzoyl
peroxide. Start with a concentration of 2.5%. If your skin doesn't clear
up within that percentage, up the strength a little at a time as too much
can irritate the skin.
If you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide, try acne skin care treatments with salicylic acid instead.
Salicylic is an over-the-counter hydroxy acid product. Its effective
because it penetrates the follicle easily and breaks down the bacteria
that causes blackheads and whiteheads. It helps exfoliates
dead skin cells at a rapid rate which prevents pores from clogging. Start
with lotions, creams or pads with concentrations of .5 to 1% and work up
to higher percentages if it isn't enough.
Consider wearing natural makeup (mineral based) or liquid foundations that
are water based. Oil based cosmetics just compound the problem of pore
blockage.
Your food diet plays an important part in the health of your skin.
Drinking plenty of water and eating fiber rich foods will help eliminate
the excess toxins in your system. When your eliminatory channels (kidney,
urinary & colon) have an overload of toxins in them, the
impurities are going to find their way out through your skin. Colonics
will help keep your colon clean leading to less impurities that would
otherwise come out through your skin in the form of blemishes.
If your acne hasn't cleared up with over the counter skincare products and
a healthy diet you should consider seeing a dermatologist who can evaluate
your particular symptoms. Such treatments using erythromycin, Retin-A or
oral antibiotics may be utilized depending on your individual case.
Once
you completely rid your skin of blemishes,
pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads, you will have a higher self esteem
and feel more confident to face the world with your new flawless
complexion.
